Fly into the heart of the Southern Alps and land at the head of the Tasman Glacier in the famous ski-equipped ski plane. Visit incredible ice caves, peer into deep crevasses (from a safe viewing point) and visit glacial canyons. The skyscrapper sized ice blocks are an amazing site. Then onto a 8-10km ski run to your awaiting ski plane. "Get in, buckle up and start again". Explore a different distant corner of this great glacier for another lengthy ski run. TASMAN AND MURCHISON GLACIER SKIING SPECIAL Kilometres of skiing down two of New Zealand's largest glaciers Tasman and Murchison Glacier Skiing Special Aoraki Mount Cook National Park Ski two very long glaciers in one day. This has got to be one of the finest scenic skiing days you will ever experience. The day starts with one of three aircraft flights into the head of the Tasman Glacier. Surrounded by New Zealand's spectacular Southern Alps, we take the 8-10km scenic ski run down the Tasman, exploring and venturing into ice caves and glacial canyons. At the end of this long ski run we fly to the head of the Murchison Glacier. The Murchison is located in one of the most pristine alpine areas of the world and we are fortunate to be able to ski 8km in this special place. The day finishes with your third scenic flight back to Mt Cook Airport. Truly, the ultimate day skiing and exploring in a winter paradise. Access into the Murchison Glacier can only be accessed in certain conditions so if this run is not possible we will do the two run Tasman Glacier trip. NZ$925 per person.

HELI SKIING HELI SKI THE BEN OHAUS/ MOUNT COOK REGION Heliskiing We heliski in some of the most spectacular alpine terrain in NZ. The Ben Ohau Range, just outside the Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, offers some of the longest vertical skiing in NZ. Cost $825 per person Price includes 4 heli ski runs, professional guide service, lunch, safety equipment, GST and permit fees. Ski touring using skins and touring ski gear opens up a new world of skiing and exploring. Small groups ensure your time in the mountains is a memorable one. You certainly get to experience the peace and tranquility of these spectacular mountains while touring amoungst them. A tour through the spectacular ice fall area and visit a high alpine mountain hut. What equipment to bring: Bring along your down hill skiing equipment. Warm ski gear is essential. Sunblock, camera. A small day pack comes in handy. Ski helmets are welcomed. Travelling to Mt Cook Airport: You can ski on the glaciers with us for the day from Christchurch, Methven, Queenstown or Wanaka. We can organise a personal charter flight from these areas. If you prefer driving, travel times range between 2.5 to 3.5 hours. There is a good range of accommodation at Aoraki Mount Cook.
